I have a confession: I had plans to write about this vegetable brush a year ago! But it was out of stock … and continued to be out of stock for so many weeks, I eventually stopped checking. However, with the first day of summer nearly here and the arrival of so much fresh produce, I thought to check again. And there it was! Fully stocked and just as wonderful as ever!

The OXO Good Grips Vegetable Brush has firm nylon bristles that are meant for scrubbing harder produce like potatoes, carrots, and lemons (before zesting!). If you’re gentle, though, it can clean up a tomato, zucchini, and peppers. It also has a comfortable grip and can be tossed in the dishwasher when you’re done with it. And again, it’s the bestselling vegetable brush on all of Amazon, with more than 7,400 five-star reviews. (Which is honestly pretty impressive. Because, who feels so inspired by a vegetable brush that they go online to write about it?) Let’s take a look at some of those glowing reviews.

“I know — it is a little strange to love a veggie brush, but the bristles have just the right stiffness and ‘give’ to clean potatoes, carrots, parsnips, etc. I haven’t used it on corn on the cob yet, but I think it will do quite well without damaging the kernels. As with most OXO products, it is ergonomically designed and even fits in my smaller, chunky hands — so much so, I believe it would be good tool for arthritic cooks.”

“This is the first time in my life I can sit and tell someone, ‘Hey, I bought this really great vegetable brush!’ It fits perfectly to my palm of my hand (which has become aged and a little stiff) and makes scrubbing fruits and vegetables much easier. It’s lightweight, solid and easily cleaned. There is nothing I would change about it and it’s been a great addition to our kitchen. Yes, I would and will buy it again and definitely recommend it to anyone else.”

“This is the perfect vegetable scrubber. Its short bristles make it firm enough to get the dirt and weird stuff off. But [the bristles are] still soft enough for the veggies. Easy to hold. I love that when I scrub the potatoes from our garden, it polishes them down to this bright purple color that they are, and you can scrub just a little bit harder to get some of the skins off if you want.”
